北京時間1月16日 ，埃弗頓客場1-2不敵諾維奇後 ，下课英國媒體傳來一片貝尼特斯下課之聲 ，即红军名名宿嘉賓羅伊-基恩與小雷德克納普均對此發表了自己的宿个甩锅看法 。
本場失利後 ，贝尼埃弗頓在最近13輪英超中隻贏下了1場勝利（埃弗頓2-1阿森納），下课有消息稱俱樂部高層已經在考慮貝尼特斯的即红军名下課問題 。
羅伊-基恩對此表示：“過去幾個月裏，宿个甩锅每當我看到埃弗頓 ，贝尼我都感覺那裏並不像是下课擁有一個好更衣室 。他們有一些優秀的即红军名球員經常無法得到出場 ，這對他們這樣的宿个甩锅俱樂部來說是沒有好處的。如果他們繼續輸球 ，贝尼貝尼特斯會付出代價的下课，或許他今晚就會下課 。即红军名”
“但他們給我更多的印象還是更衣室 ，球隊的更衣室似乎缺少了一些東西 ，球隊文化 、個性或是領袖 。我了解科爾曼（埃弗頓隊長） ，他是個好人 ，但埃弗頓的更衣室看上去並不那麽好 。你不能輸掉那麽多比賽，主帥會為此買單 。”
小雷德克納普作為昔日紅軍一員 ，則是明確指出了貝尼特斯並非埃弗頓良配：“在一定程度上，埃弗頓的遭遇並不能完全歸罪於貝尼特斯 。但我得說的是，他有在俱樂部內部製造混亂的前科 ，他就像一個政客 ，總是到處甩鍋責備別人 ，他總是試圖挑起對抗，他所到之處 ，總會營造出一種大家都在對抗高層的奇怪氛圍 。我確認他在埃弗頓也是這麽做的 ，並且我認為他堅持不了多久了。”
“有些人可能不喜歡我們談到換帥的話題 ，但是我認為他今晚就會下課的 。貝尼特斯從來都不是適合的人選 ，如果贏了的話還好 ，但他們在一直輸球，所以球迷也就更難接受他 。”
傑米-雷德克納普還談到了繼任人選，鄧肯-弗格森再次救火，或是從埃弗頓出道的魯尼 ？或許現在都在埃弗頓高層的考慮之中 。
值得一提的是 ，貝尼特斯的上任就充滿了爭議與反對之聲 ，讓一個前利物浦主帥來執教埃弗頓並不是大部分太妃糖球迷能夠接受的事情 。
