早些時候 ，亚裔社交媒體曝光了一段視頻 ，什都視頻中登貝萊嘲笑了前來酒店房間維修電視的没说亞洲工作人員長相醜陋 。登貝萊當時說 ：“這些醜陋的格列麵孔 ，就是兹曼只笑為了讓你玩上實況足球 ，你不感到羞愧嗎 ？歧视他們說的是什麽落後的語言，他們的國家技術到底有沒有進步 ？”登貝萊的好友格列茲曼則在一旁發笑 ，並沒有製止登貝萊 。這段視頻曝光之後 ，登貝萊和格裏茲曼立即被推向了輿論漩渦的中心 ，他們涉嫌種族歧視 。
早些時候 ，格列茲曼和登貝萊先後在社交媒體發布動態對此進行澄清 。格列茲曼當時寫道 ：“我一直致力於反對任何形式的歧視。最近幾天 ，有些人想把我描述為相反的人 。我堅決否認針對我的任何指控 ，如果有冒犯我的日本朋友 ，我對此道歉 。”
近日 ，格列茲曼又聯係了樂天總裁三木穀浩史 ，他說道 ：“在這則引發爭議的視頻裏 ，我什麽也沒說，隻是在笑。我現在要為此道歉 ，這段視頻裏的內容應該受到譴責 。我一直致力於反對任何形式的種族歧視 。近日 ，有些人認為我冒犯了日本朋友，我為此感到難過 。”
據悉 ，格列茲曼和登貝萊已經惹怒了日本讚助商 。《進球網》稱，科樂美已經決定單方麵終止與格列茲曼的代言合同 ，樂天和科樂美與巴塞羅那簽訂的廣告協議是否會受到影響還有待觀察 ，樂天原本要在新賽季為巴塞羅那讚助3000萬歐元 。在巴塞羅那內部 ，俱樂部已經表達了對格列茲曼和登貝萊的不滿，尤其是登貝萊 ，巴塞羅那認為他是慣犯 ，此前就有過類似的不當行為 。
