曼聯一切新計劃的克步口超起始點都是“任命一名新主帥” ，目前阿賈克斯主帥滕哈格和巴黎聖日耳曼主帥波切蒂諾是走战其中的佼佼者 。其中滕哈格是朗尼克心儀的人選。據媒體報道分析 ，如果曼聯開口想邀的話 ，這名荷蘭人其實已經口頭上同意離開賈府了 。
而對於計劃的後麵幾步 ，該如何趕超曼城與利物浦 ，朗尼克表示 ：“曼城和利物浦是在五六年的時間裏建立和招募的 ，所有這些都是建立在瓜迪奧拉和克洛普想踢什麽樣的足球的需求之下的 。”
“我已經建議過董事會了 ，這是曼聯必須也要經曆的事情 。無論何時 ，無論是誰 ，我們的新主帥都會很清楚，他想踢什麽樣的足球 ？我們需要什麽樣的球員來完成他的這個目標 ？”
“然後讓我們回到球員的DNA ，速度、體能 、節奏。我們需要什麽 ？這支球隊不缺技術型的球員 ，它需要的是更多的身體素質 。”
“這需要一個正確的決策 ，一個清晰的方向 ，我們想要什麽樣的主帥 ，想要什麽樣的球員 ，然後 ，在每個轉會窗口 ，盡可能的做到最好 。這是科學的 ，而且我們必須這樣做 。若果如此，不一定需要三年或四年的時間 ，也許兩三個轉會窗口後 ，情況就會有所不同 。”
