消息源這樣告訴《太陽報》記者 ：“一名球員對此感到非常憤怒 ，他認為部分球員過遭拋棄格林伍德 ，體現了球隊還是不團結 。如果格林伍德別定罪 ，那所有球員當然都可以唾棄他 。但警方還沒有做出最終決定，他們甚至還沒決定是否起訴格林伍德 ，因為警方也不確定證據是否足夠 。”
“但有些球員卻立刻拋棄了格林伍德 ，他們感覺自己必須當個楷模 。”消息源繼續說道 ，“一名曼聯球員告訴我 ，這顯示了更衣室內有多麽不團結 。在本賽季中 ，曼聯太多次表現出各自為戰的個人主義了。”
在這次曼聯更衣室分裂中，C羅又扮演了關鍵角色 。按照英媒此前的說法 ，曼聯更衣室此前就曾經分裂過，球員們分成了葡語幫和非葡語幫。葡語幫的老大是誰 ？相信這就毋庸贅言了……
