10月11日中午，津门基诺天津津門虎隊從駐地出發前往大連 ，虎抵正式開啟今年中國足協杯賽之旅 。大连中場大將維基諾維奇表示 ：“現在談論目標還有些早 ，备战杯维标还我們要做的足协就是在第一輪的比賽中取得勝利 。”
考慮到全隊抵達大連賽區之後需要進行核酸檢測和隔離觀察 ，维奇天津津門虎隊10月11日上午特意安排了一堂訓練課 。谈目太早按照計劃 ，津门基诺這堂訓練課的虎抵時間隻有一個小時 ，不過球員們訓練熱情比較高漲 ，大连最後還是备战杯维标还有些超時了 。即使這樣 ，足协球員們走下場的维奇時候也不禁開起了玩笑 ：“不過癮 ，訓練時間太短了 。谈目太早”
為了準備即將開始的津门基诺中國足協杯賽 ，天津津門虎隊進行了精心的準備 ，全隊共踢了五場熱身賽 ，球員們對於這項賽事充滿著期待。“我們的目標就是希望可以一直留在大連 ，盡量多打一些比賽 ，為中超聯賽保級組的比賽做準備 。如果可以在這項賽事上有所突破 ，當然是求之不得了 。”球員們這樣表示 。
對於荷蘭中場維基諾維奇來說 ，中國足協杯賽意義重大 ，他即將迎來代表天津津門虎隊的首場比賽 ，他說 ：“我之前最後一場正式比賽是7月中旬 ，對於正式比賽充滿期待 ，相信全隊也充滿期待 。我們這個間歇期嚐試了很多新的東西，包括新的技戰術打法 ，希望通過正式比賽體現出來這些東西 。當然 ，對於中國足協杯賽名次的期待 ，我覺得現在很難去說什麽，需要我們全力以赴贏下每一場比賽 ，盡量往前走。”
10月11日下午，天津津門虎隊已經抵達大連 ，在入駐賽區在接受核酸檢測之後 ，球員們隻能在各自房間裏等待結果 。按照計劃 ，天津津門虎隊教練組會在10月12日上午考察訓練和比賽場地 ，下午全隊將進行賽前的適應性訓練 。
